Kindred Spirit
THE POWER OF STORIES
We love translating stories to photographs that take us to another time and space. They can have so much power. There are some stories that can heal, some that we can relate to, some to make us stop and think. And some are there to inspire and to help us change – just like in our childhood when we firmly believed that everything we could imagine was real. Now, as adults, we need a reminder from the inner child that it is indeed possible. This time we were inspired by a character from the book Anne of Greengables. That lovely, special girl, finding her kindred spirit and her lesson on learning to accept yourself the way you are.
BEAUTY OF OUR DIFFERENCES
We need to change our perspective and come to realize that if we strive to fit in – we disappear. There is beauty in being different and the biggest gift is when we get to understand that we can freely embrace and love ourselves in our uniqueness.
So – in this world, immensely pressured by the message to change in order to fit unrealistic images, provided by the media, this is our tribute to self-acceptance and a celebration of the unique beauty we can find in each end every one of us.
“Dear old world’, she murmured, ‘you are very lovely, and I am glad to be alive in you.” (L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables)
