His love for kayaking and Soča River led this German-Russian couple to choose a very unique wedding location. Their destination wedding in Slovenia took place in a small village in the heart of Soča Valley. Above all, this valley is famous for its unspoilt natural beauty and scenic charm. Therefore we can definitely understand what drew them here. Breathing in the fresh air and staring at this mesmerizing emerald green colour, you can easily feel why Soča is one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe.
They flew their friends and family from all over Europe to celebrate this special day with them. The ceremony was first planned to take place outdoor, right by the river. However, with the rain pouring down all day long, the complete celebration took place indoors. But we were lucky enough to catch a few almost-rainless minutes to go down to the river and have a brief portrait session.
The groom said he truly wished for their wedding to have a festival feel to it. And it sure did! Their talented musician friends were switching places on the beautifully lighted stage. In addition, even bride & groom got up there and surprised the guests with a really nice duet.
The decoration of the place was industrial-rustic with simple yet tasteful table settings. Together with the impeccable selection of food and wine it perfectly completed the vibe of the day.
Looking back at that wedding, it still gives us a warm feeling inside. It is always amazing to see the couple step out of classic traditions and really create the day that reflects their personalities. And it is beautiful to have people come together from all over the continent with one single purpose. To celebrate love, friendship and connections that surpass the test of time or distance.
