Rihemberk Castle Styled Wedding
Rihemberk Castle, Slovenia | September 2017
There is something about old places and buildings that fascinates us and gives us an unlimited source of inspiration. We laid our eyes on this castle some time ago. At that time it was still closed for public. Then we suddenly read exciting news it was opening again this year and we knew right away we wanted to do a styled wedding shoot there.
Looking up, a mix of respect, excitement and chills runs through our veins. There stands this Castle, stripped of old glory, wounded by humanity. Once smooth rock is pitted and scarred. Yet grey stone walls still proudly rise from the land, persistened and determined to protect what has once been entrusted to their care.
Walking through remains of the castle we could almost hear the whisper of the ages, all the tales of lives and deaths they witnessed. We felt humbled by the feeling that our styled wedding was about to become a small piece of the history of this place. As a Castle Wedding Photographer.
Final arcitecture was added to the castle in 19. century. Interestingly exactly the period that was historically (especially in Great Britain) also marked as Victorian era which is, for many reasons, another important source of our inspiration. Hence we decided that the styled wedding elements will pay tribute to victorian times yet retain contemporary feel. Ca
